About

"Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

Our Mission

We are committed to a ministry of multi-generational discipleship, marked by the supremacy of Scripture in life and worship, and dependence upon the ordinary means of grace with a focus on the Gospel.

Glorify:

God saves us and calls us to be a part of His church for His glory.

Grow:

Our growing affection for the Lord drives us to live in a manner worthy of our calling.

Go:

Armed with the Gospel, our personal testimony, and a life that reflects the character of Christ we go out proclaiming the message of grace.

What does this look like in our fellowship?

• Sunday Worship is the primary means of discipleship
• We need to know each other, care for each other, and walk out the Word in our daily lives.
•  We want in-depth Bible teaching and worship which leads us to reverence and awe.
• We are intentionally involved in both our local community and our world.

history

Southside Church began by God’s grace in 1997 in Garner, North Carolina under the leadership of Pastor Phil Spry. The congregation first met at Rand Road Elementary School until 2002 when they moved to their present location in Clayton on 15 acres of land and constructed their first facility. The church continued to grow and launched various ministries, including the beginning of Southside Christian School in 2006.

In the fall of 2006, Pastor Spry retired and Jim Harmeling was called to be its second pastor in December. In 2017, Dr. Harmeling was called to serve the Lord in Singapore, and Ben Myers succeeded him as Senior Pastor.
